Under this program, we reach out to teenage mothers in crisis situations and walk the journey with them until they are self-sustaining.
This includes temporary shelter, counselling, and vocational and business training. We provide a safe space for teenage mothers to stay and access resources needed to build a better future for themselves and their children. Our counselling services offer support and guidance on issues such as parenting, nutrition, education, and employment. Our vocational training program helps teenage mothers develop skills that can be used in the job market.
We understand the importance of a quality education and are committed to making it accessible for all. By partnering with us, you can sponsor the education of a teen mother’s child or a single mother’s child giving them an opportunity to attend school and gain the skills they need for a brighter future to positively impact their community.
Hope Shine Uganda works with local clinics to provide medical tests and care for sick and expectant mothers. We conduct health seminars on nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, best practices for a safe birth and parenting classes. We distribute maternity hygiene kits to expectant mothers so they can receive assistance from a medical clinic when they are in labor.
We provide vital food relief and emergency household supplies to single mothers and girls living in extreme poverty in the slums of Namuwongo, which is a suburb in Kampala – the capital city of Uganda.
Teaching women life skills and vocational training is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our program allows vulnerable women to gain the skills they need to start their own business and make a daily living to support their families and regain their dignity. Your donation to this program helps cover tuition fees, school uniforms, educational materials and supplies for the year-long course.
Hope Shine advocates for the end of teenage pregnancies and sexual/gender-based violence by working with community leaders and policy makers to push change initiatives.
